Vacuum assisted precise tissue release (VAPTR) is quite a mouthful, but it also happens to be a popular technology for dealing with cellulite. It combines vacuum with subcision to smooth away the appearance of dimples in the upper thighs and buttocks area.

If you’ve been dealing with cellulite for a long time, you’re probably curious about this procedure, since it’s considered quite effective! However, considering a session can cost upwards of $5000, it’s so important that you research and understand it better.

In this post, we’ll explain how VAPTR works, and also cover its various risks and anything else you should consider before giving it a try.

How does Vacuum Assisted Precise Tissue Release (VAPTR) Work to Treat Cellulite?

Vacuum assisted precise tissue release is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure. It involves cutting under the skin to release the bands of connective tissue that cause fat to dimple rather than lay smooth.

It’s a lot like subcision, but the key difference is that the technology also relies on a vacuum to provide more accurate results.

During the treatment, your doctor first marks all of the cellulite dimples that they are about to treat. Then, in comes the vacuum! First, the vacuum is used to lift the skin and helps to guide where the anesthetic is injected. Then, that same vacuum keeps the skin lifted by about 6 to 10 mm, guiding the microblade that’s then inserted under the skin. As the microblade is moved side to side, it cuts the septa under the skin and releases the cellulite.

The vacuum basically creates negative pressure that lifts and stabilizes the skin, allowing for more precise and controlled insertion and movement of both the anesthetic and microblade.

After the treatment, the treatment area gets bandaged up, and your doctor will recommend that you wear compression clothing for the following few weeks, while avoiding any intense activities. VAPTR only requires one treatment to be effective, although the actual results can take months before becoming visible.

Common Side Effects: VAPTR Cellulite Treatment

The most common side effects of VAPTR cellulite treatments are some soreness and bruising. It’s even common for the small cuts in the skin to release a bit of clear fluid. In most cases, the bruising and soreness will go away over the course of a few weeks.

On rare occasions, patients can experience hematomas, a more severe type of bruising where blood collects under the skin. There have also been some adverse events reported to the FDA, often as a result of the microblade malfunctioning and leading to deeper or misplaced cuts. Finally, there is a minor risk of infection as a result of the cutting, but it’s very rare since the treatment is usually sterile, especially when performed by an experienced doctor.

VAPTR is quite controlled, but it’s still hard to predict exactly how the skin and fat in the body will resettle following the procedure. Some patients report unexpected skin irregularities like bumps or depressions following the treatment.

Evertone Anti-Cellulite Routine

VAPTR is undeniably effective but it’s also not something to be taken lightly. Going under the knife should always be a serious consideration, even when that knife is a small microblade.

There are effective treatments that will fade the look of your cellulite without extreme costs or pain! At Evertone, we developed a comprehensive cellulite routine that addresses visible dimpling on a few different levels. With the combined power of potent active ingredients like caffeine, apple stem cells, and vitamins A & C with exfoliation and deep massage, we promise that your skin can bounce back within weeks.
