for Cellulite

WHAT WORKS & WHAT DOESN'T

Winter is on its way out, and I don’t know about you, but my future holds short skirts, shorter shorts, and maybe even a trip to the beach in a brand-new swimsuit! It also means that it’s finally time to try some actually effective home.remedies for cellulite

Remedies that could actually make a difference.

Wouldn’t it be nice to just wave a magic wand and make cellulite disappear? Alas, life is never quite so easy. Those dimples that dash those smooth skin fantasies are incredibly persistent, and that’s because they’re complex.

Cellulite isn’t about whether you carry a few extra pounds or have a skin imperfection. It’s actually caused by a combination of factors, and its visibility on the surface involves layers of fat, connective tissue, fluid retention, and the outer layers of your skin.

The most effective home treatments for cellulite work by addressing at least one of those issues, by thickening the skin, dispersing how fat collects, reducing fluid buildup, and loosening up tight connective tissues.

With that in mind, here are the most frequently recommended home remedies for cellulite, and a breakdown of which ones work and which are a complete waste of your time.

Dieting and Weight Loss

If you’ve ever looked in a full-length mirror, spotted some cellulite and thought to yourself “I look so fat” then you’ve been sold a dirty lie.

The ideal body fat percentage for an adult woman is between 21% and 35%1. You can be perfectly healthy and still have cellulite. That’s because cellulite has more to do with how fat presses against the connective tissue (i.e., fascia) just below your skin.

While a lot of excess fat might lead to more prominent cellulite, the reality is that it’s often still present even after weight loss. Research shows that in some cases, it could even look a little worse2.

So if you do think you need to lose weight, discuss that with a trusted healthcare professional, but don’t rely on it as a sure way of beating cellulite.

Exercise

Exercise is another common suggestion for addressing cellulite. So should you exercise? Yes, undeniably! Exercise is good for your body, heart, and soul!

But is exercise an effective cellulite home remedy? Maybe. Resistance training especially can help you develop muscles under the layer where fat collects, helping to smooth things out a little from below.

That said, this is extremely individual! Many fit women still experience cellulite, and research shows3 that the effects of different workouts on cellulite are modest at best. The same research also suggests that the best results come if exercise is combined with other treatments that directly impact how fat collects under connective tissue.

Coffee Scrubs

Coffee scrubs for cellulite are some of the most popular home remedies. Scrubs work by exfoliating, which is a practice that boosts the smoothness of the surface of the skin by removing dead skin cells that make dimpling seem worse.

In the long term, exfoliation also promotes healthier skin functioning, helping to promote better cell regeneration, for firmer skin that’s more resistant to dimpling.

Plus, scrubbing visibly fades loads of other types of bumps and marks, including ingrown hairs and body acne!

But why coffee? It’s simple - caffeine is one of the only ingredients proven to help reduce cellulite4. It’s an immediately firming ingredient that stimulates microcirculation. Over time, it visibly prevents fat from collecting in the cells, which is how it’s able to directly address the main cause of cellulite. It doesn’t melt fat, but it adjusts how it collects.

The only issue? There’s no way for the skin to absorb enough caffeine from your average coffee scrub.

That’s why Evertone’s Body Exfoliator includes other supportive ingredients, like coffee oil, and fatty acids that encourage a fortified skin barrier. That said, it’s still not quite enough on its own, since it’s only in contact with the skin for a few minutes.

Caffeine Creams

For caffeine to effectively reduce your cellulite it needs to be formulated in a way that allows it to penetrate. A product that washes off won’t do the trick, and neither will a product that only contains a little drop of it.

If you’re shopping for a caffeine cream, look at products that feature this incredible near the top of the ingredient list.

The Evertone Body Shaper is a firming cellulite cream designed with enough caffeine to do the job. It’s designed to guarantee maximum penetration, to ensure the caffeine penetrates down to where it can disperse fat cells and undo that lumpy look.

The formula is bolstered by other supportive ingredients that impact the appearance of cellulite on a few levels of the skin. For example, vitamin A and apple extract help stimulate the production of new skin cells, to create a healthier epidermis that looks tauter and firmer.

Apple Cider Vinegar

For some strange reason, apple cider vinegar (ACV) is frequently recommended as a cellulite home remedy. As delicious as it may be in your salad dressing, I couldn’t find any evidence to suggest it’s effective either as a beverage or as a topical treatment!

In fact, applying ACV to the skin can be pretty irritating5. In your diet, it may help with a bit of weight loss6, but as I already explained, weight loss alone isn’t a cellulite solution.

Massage

Not all massages were created equal. A quick rub down with your hands can feel ultra-pleasant and relaxing, but it won’t work for cellulite. What will work is an effective, deep massage that encourages lymphatic drainage and fascia stimulation.

Research shows7 that deep massage sessions that dislodge lymph fluid can have a dramatic and noticeable impact on cellulite and thigh circumference, while treatments that offer fascia release effectively loosen up those bands of connective tissue that press against fat and lead to dimpling.

This kind of massage is intense and difficult to achieve with just hands. Evertone developed a special gua sha tool for the body that directly promotes lymph drainage while encouraging blood flow and softening fascia tissue.

It’s large enough to use on the thighs or glutes, and it effectively targets multiple contributors to the appearance of cellulite, from lymph fluid that adds volume to the connective tissue that causes dimpling. It’s currently available for free with an anti-cellulite bundle purchase!

It doesn’t take a lot of sessions to see results, but it does require diligence.

A Complete Cellulite-Busting Routine

Cellulite is multi-faceted, so I’ve come to the conclusion that there isn’t just one way to get rid of it.

Instead, it’s about “fighting” it on every level, through a comprehensive cellulite-busting routine. Each step should address cellulite a little differently.
