Ziip Microcurrent Review

Ziip Halo is a high-end microcurrent device developed by esthetician Melanie Simon and engineer David Mason. It was the first app-connected microcurrent brand, and its products receive a ton of hype from celebrities and the press.

  The Halo, which is the current iteration of Ziip’s device, combines both micro and nanocurrent to stimulate the skin and muscles, with the goal of creating a more sculpted, glowy, and lifted appearance along with a reduction of fine lines.

Evertone offers highly effective skincare and body treatments, with a focus on improving some of the most frustrating beauty concerns women face, such as stretch marks, cellulite, fine lines, and wrinkles. The brand’s range of body care products are formulated with proven active ingredients like vitamin A, caffeine, and alpha-hydroxy acid, as well as natural botanicals known for their nourishing and stimulating effects.

  Evertone also offers evidence-based devices for the skin and body. The brand’s microcurrent device, the Everlift, is a budget-friendly, portable, and easy-to-operate alternative to expensive microcurrent tools. It offers the same lifting and contouring effect as other devices but for a fraction of the cost.

Technology and Mechanism
 Ziip Halo’s marketing highlights two types of currents: Microcurrent, which you can also find in the Evertone device, and nanocurrent, which is a less intense electric charge.

   The Halo emits up to 400 microamps of electricity, which is on the higher range of most devices. This makes it a powerful option that, for some, might even be too powerful, although generally, it’s still well below the level where you’d feel any pain.

  The nanocurrent is an interesting addition. Ziip promises that this milder electric charge is able to promote long-lasting results. However, there is virtually no published research on the benefits of nanocurrency for the skin, so it’s hard to determine if this is true or not.

  Evertone’s device only emits a slightly gentler microcurrent, with 350 microamps. This is still enough intensity to stimulate the skin without causing any discomfort.

 Ease of Use
Using the Ziip and Evertone devices is a similar process. Starting with clean skin, you need to apply a hydrating, conducting serum that will ensure better microcurrent delivery and a gentle glide over the skin.

   Then, with the Evertone, it’s a simple matter of turning the Everlift on and starting to massage it over the skin. The device is pre-programmed with a 5-minute treatment which is ideal for most skin types.

  Ziip Halo is pre-programmed with a quick 4-minute treatment, but there are other treatment programs of varying lengths available via the brand’s app.

 Design
Both Ziip and Evertone’s devices are small, portable and designed for hand-held use. Ziip’s device is reminiscent of a computer mouse - it’s a curved panel with two nodes at the bottom that emit a microcurrent. The Evertone Everlift has an oval-shaped base, with two nodes directly on top.

 Reviewers rate both as comfortable to hold and use. Give them a look, and decide for yourself whether you’d prefer a product like Evertone with a base you can hold, or the curved Ziip that has to be gripped with all fingers, or pressed against the skin with the palm.

 Customizability and Additional Features
With Evertone, it’s all about simplicity. The device’s built-in treatment is simple to operate, and you can easily use it anywhere on your body with any adequately rich serum.

  Ziip’s app offers additional treatment options recommended for different skin types and concerns. The treatments available are of varying lengths and microcurrent intensities.

  That said, the research on microcurrent treatments hasn’t investigated different combinations of nano and microcurrents. There are no established recommendations or standards for how to treat different concerns with microcurrent.
